A new railway station near the  international airport  of Georgia  has been opened   by the President  Mikheil Saakashvili, the Mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava, the Minister of the economical development Giorgi Arveladze and the director general of “ Railway of Georgia”  Irakli Ezugbaia.

The railway station is remoted  by 70 metres  from the airport  and is  very comfortable for the airport passengers , the station “Airport “ is  completely updated and is a “new  word” in the Georgian architecture.  Semi circled  arch form construction   is faced with  golden  glass, in the central façade of the building  a clock of laser projection  is installed,  a 2 kilometer long railway to the station  has been constructed as well, the rail road is  parallel to  the high way.

A very comfortable and modern train with the capacity of 100  passengers  will move on  the rail road  taking them  to the central  railway station. The train is made in Georgia.

The travelling from airport to the central railway station will take only 20 minutes and the electric train will leave in every 40 minutes, the travelling fee will be 2 GEL.

The President of Georgia called the new station a real sensation.

“It is not  just a station, is  a whole rail  line, our basic task is to firmly stand on the rails and never to  turn to the other direction no matter what problems may be propped up, to go to the very end of the destination point. That’s why no design of the revival of our country will  be halted. We will construct new hospitals, railroads, airports, schools and the Georgian nation will live far better, if you come to the airport by taxi you will have to pay 15 GEL, and the travelling fee by the train is only 2 GEL. Any person can  travel twice as fast , this is the  pace  taken for the welfare of the population, this means that  this has not been done for the well- off people,”-   stated the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili at the opening ceremony.

The President approved the fact of , both the station and the train, been constructed  by Georgians and noted that in future everything in our country will be made by the hands of Georgians, according to his statement this sort of station  is not even in Geneva.

The first passenger of the new train was Mikheil Sakashvili. The opening ceremony of the new railway station was attended by the Minister of Defense of Georgia  Davit Kezerashvili  as well.

The Mayor of Tbilisi  positively approved the opening of the station “Airport” and  the opening of a  new  rail line to  it .
“I think the new station is very original, it should be noted that the prospect of enlargement  is quite accessible, if we have the tourists directly  going  to the regions for example to Sighnaghi, to Batumi or to Bakuriani  in that case trains going to these regions will be added and it should be noted that   this rail line is  synchronized  with the subway  and practically fits the city infrastructure,”- stated Gigi Ugulava  when observing the new station.

According to Irakli Ezugbaia , the new rail line  and the  station were completed in a very short period of time.
“I think everybody will like the new station, we were ordered by the President  to construct this station in February and  we were able to finish its construction very soon, the author of the design is the Georgian company “Delta-project 2000” the construction of the  station and the rail line was also carried out by the Georgian  company “ Trasmsheni” ,- noted Irakli Ezugbaia.

So enjoy travelling to the airport and back by the cheap and comfortable train.
