Issuing the Licenses on the taxi launched

Since the first day of August, issuing the licenses on taxes launched on taxes in service ; Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi Maia Bitadze announced on it on the briefing.

According to her statement, proceeding from the legislative amendments adaopted by the Parliament of Georgia, Tbilisi City Hall and City Assembly approved the rules of regulation for taxi realm, according to which, any license seeker may undergone procedure for obtaining the license via E-mode.

“Web site www.taxi.tbilisi.gov. ge enacted. It offers any seeker easy and flexible procedures for obtaining the license . To undergo respective stages on web-site, uploading of private data, driving license and information on vehicle is sufficient. Permission may be procured at district governments where the staff of Tbilsi City Hall allocated specifically for this purpose will provide their assitance for any license seeker to undergo registration and obtain respective instruments”- Maia Bitadze said.

As deputy mayor Maia Bitadze interpreted, Tbilisi City Hall set nominal amount for licensing: GEL 100 for the vehicles with IC engine, GEl 50 for hybrids and license is free for the holder of electric cars to incentivize eco-friendly vehicles; Two month term is set for obtaining the license.

“License seekers can get the documents including October 1 which will be valid untill October 1, 2019. License holder shall print out the document and stick in the significant place of the vehicle. In the meantime, the yellow sign shall be placed on the body of the vehicle. Since October 1, penalty at amount of GEL 200 will be imposed on taxi driver by the employees of Patrol Police and department of transport of Tbilisi City Hall for lack of the instrument.” – Maia Bitadze said.

According to her statement,adapted regulation is the first step taken to advancement of service realm of Taxi and it will promote establishmend of safe and comfortable service standards for taxi commuters.

“Society is already infromed upon the second stage of taxi regulation. However specifics will be released in October. Over the second stage of licensing, which is to be launched from October 1 this year, attantion will be switched to the visual side of the vehicles- like colour, except for this, supplementary regulation will be specified for the vehicles with three doors and right steering-wheel” – deputy mayor of Tbilisi said.

According to Maia Bitadze, discussion on projected regulation in taxi realm has been undergoing over couple of months. Citizens including people in this field along with the respective companies were informed about it. Regulation process involved Tbilisi City Hall, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Parliament of Georgia. Experts of EBRD gave hand to the municipality either.
